Fellows and Interns

As an Indian woman brought up in Japan, Naishi witnessed the differences that exist between developing and developed countries, regarding gender equality. Her annual visits to India remind her of the ongoing inequalities and discrimination that prevail in many less developed countries and hence recognizes the importance of working with grassroots organizations to eradicate poverty, violence, and gender inequality. Prior to joining Women Thrive, Naishi worked at Kids Earth Fund, a non-profit organization aiming to promote peace and equality for children around the globe.

Naishi is a senior at the George Washington University double majoring in Economics and International Affairs, with a concentration in International Development. She has taken several classes on women’s rights and gender equality and continues to show her support for non-profit organizations and their bottom-up approach.
