Dr. Trevor Tomkins is Founder and President of venture | dairy.
Trevor Tomkins founded venture | dairy in 2010 as part of his passion for the dairy industry and wish to make a long-lasting contribution to developing communities around the world.
Trevor completed his education in England and obtained his Ph.D. in Agriculture from the University of Reading, where he specialized in animal science. He then lived and worked in South Africa for a multi-national Dutch company for four years before returning to Europe where he traveled extensively worldwide in his capacity as an advisor on livestock production and nutrition. In 1983, Trevor moved to the United States and joined Milk Specialties Company as Vice President of Research. In 1999, Trevor became Chief Executive Officer of Milk Specialties Global. During his 12-year tenure as CEO, Trevor oversaw the growth of the company to becoming one of the major players in the U.S. Dairy Industry.
Trevor has extensive research experience including authoring many papers on Animal Nutrition. He served on the National Research Council Subcommittee, which authored the 2001 Nutrient Requirements for Dairy Cattle. Trevor also served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Heifer International Foundation and on the Boards of Heifer International and I-Feeder (the Institute for Feed Education and Research).
