Gender Roundtable: Campaigns for Change – Using Technology to End Violence Against Women in the DRC, Syria, India

October 2, 2012 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Digital media and mobile technology have become powerful tools for social change over the last decade. This month’s Gender Roundtable event will feature three dynamic leaders visiting the U.S. as part of World Pulse’s Ending Violence Against Women Digital Action Campaign, which sources testimonies and solutions from women on the ground in 190 countries. These award-winning journalists will speak personally to harnessing the power of digital media and technology to create solutions on the front lines of some of today’s most violent and intractable war zones for women.

Featuring:

  • Ritu Sharma, Co-Founder and President, Women Thrive Worldwide

and three award-winning World Pulse Citizen Journalists:

  • Neema Namadamu, Democratic Republic of the Congo
  • Hummingbird, Syria
