Agar Nana Mbianda

Prior to joining Women Thrive, Agar worked for 13 years with the German Technical Corporation in Cameroon on a number of programs related to women’s rights. At the Sexual and Reproductive Health Program, she liaised with local representatives of the Ministry of Health on Family Planning, implemented a gender framework across all activities, and participated in the implementation of E-learning for midwifery schools. She was also an HIV coordinator in Water and Sanitation Program, where she worked with communities and many civil society organizations and helped people living with HIV. At the Youth and Adolescent Program, she worked on gender-based violence and advocated for the education of teenage mothers.
Agar holds a Master’s Degree in Social Psychology and a Bachelor Degree in Psychology and Social Science from the University of Yaoundé 1 in Cameroon. She also has completed courses in Monitoring and Evaluation of health programs from CESAG in Senegal, Community Mobilization and Participation from MacDevis in Cameroon, and Health and Human Rights at the University of Heidelberg in Germany.
