Suzanne Lerner is an entrepreneur, activist, and advocate for gender equality. She is currently the president of Michael Stars.

Suzanne Lerner boasts decades of experience in business, as well as a background in philanthropy with a primary focus on gender equality, economic empowerment, and social justice.

In 1986, Lerner co-founded clothing company Michael Stars of which she now serves as President. What started as a brand devoted to creating the perfect tee, has evolved into a full collection of luxury essentials for men and women.

Lerner’s second career is philanthropy and giving back to communities both in the US as well as internally. She supports numerous causes personally, as well as through the Michael Stars Foundation.

She is an advocate for gender equality and believes that a woman’s success shouldn’t be decided by where she is from. Her commitment to this belief started in her early twenties when she spent several years traveling the world and saw firsthand the inequality that exists. Realizing then that we’re all citizens of this world, Suzanne has made it her mission to support women’s rights both in business and her personal life.

Suzanne currently serves on the board of Ms. Foundation for Women, Women Thrive Alliance, and the ACLU of Southern California.  She is an active member of Women’s Donor Network and Women Moving Millions, and funds a number of grassroots NGOs that focus on women’s empowerment, economic stability, and social justice.

In addition to her personal funding, Suzanne has made it a priority to use her company as a vehicle to effect change. Michael Stars sells a variety of products that support women around the world. These include Simbi accessories, whose proceeds help provide clean water and sustainable jobs in Haiti. In addition, they have partnered with Joyful Heart Foundation on a custom t-shirt and a limited edition scarf line whose proceeds benefit the organization, as well as Paula Coles Haiti on The Artisan Collection, a line of embellished linen jackets that support PRODEV schools in Haiti.
